neighbor

she decorated her picture window
with artificial flowers, a seasonal display
aimed at the world in general
for she kept mostly to herself
spoke to no one on her street

//There are so many people like this. You wonder if it's a choice or fear.... or that the artificial flowers are a way of reaching out. I would try knocking on her door and leaving cookies at Christmas? Maybe?
I know this is a Nov. poem but It's Jan. 2 and I want to wish you a Happy New Year.
I was in Oakland, last week, having dinner with my son and as we drove around I thought about you and wished you a Merry Christmas. We had dinner at Spettro's on Lakeshore Ave. It's the second time we have been there. Good food and a fun place to eat. Check it out.
May this New Year bring you good health and happiness, Merita.
Love, Connie
