I can tell the dogs have grown
since my daughter brought them here for me to tend
three tawny pups, the male lion-like with a short mane
In the long intervals between dream visits
I must have forgotten to feed them
Tired of waiting, they had gone to final sleep on the straw
I don’t want my daughter to find out!

Wow! This one brought tears. I'm not sure why.
I was just thinking that the title of this poem would make a great title for a book of your poems.
big smile (thank you, dear farmlady)
(p.s. this & In Passing is a book of my poems)
Very cool!
